Agenda

Ongoing R&D Projects
  1. Acclimation plot for various citrus varieties: acclimation plot for first tests of various citrus varieties.
  2. Controlling irrigation of grapefruit by constant measurement of fruit size by means of computerized testers and manual measurement, and accordingly adjusting quantity of irrigation, time intervals and distances between drippers.
  3. Controlling pellet mould, which has spread greatly in the area in recent years.
  4. Girdling with barbed wire to raise yield in Chandler pomello for various periods.
  5. Improvement of differentiation in grapefruit: raising yield by means of production inhibitors of giberline by autumn girdling.
  6. Improving differentiation - raising yield of citrus by means of giberline inhibitors.
  7. Improving plant growth through fruit bearing by using a sophisticated irrigation system and optimal irrigation.
  8. Developing model plots of new varieties - test plots for various citrus varieties.
  9. Technologies for pruning and thinning trees to improve lighting in citrus orchard - thinning a quarter or half the trees by various thinning techniques.
  10. Reducing fruit drop and improving fruit size by treatment with 2,4D, giberline, Cytokinine and CPPU.
  11. Spraying Cytokinine during the summer in order to ensure blossoming for the following year in an orchard with high production.
  12. Testing various girdling techniques to raise yield in citrus trees - girdling 50-80% of the branches, full and partial trunk girdling and treatment with giberline.
  13. Technologies for treating citrus orchard with Cytokinine, giberline and giberline production inhibitor in order to improve fruit setting and reduce fruit drop immediately after blossoming.
  14. Technologies for treatment with Cytokinine via the irrigation system in order to ensure blossoming and reduce alternation in a fruit-heavy orchard.
